Friends of the Earth Scotland response to the Scottish Government consultation on the creation of a Scottish Civil Justice Council, as part of our Access to Environmental Justice campaign. The proposed Council will be responsible for implementing many of the reforms recommended in the 2009 Gill Review and keeping civil justice system under ongoing review as well as drafting rules. As a result it will have a significant influence over the way environmental law develops in Scotland and impact on the way that individuals, communities and NGOs engage in the justice system.
